Job Title: Mechanical Fitter

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team at our Kalgoorlie Service Centre.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, adjustments & inspections of Slurry Pumps, Valves and Hydrocyclones in Goldfields Region & greater WA mining region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repairing and refurbishing used pumps as well as assembling new pumps in the Kalgoorlie service facility, in accordance with OEM procedures.
  • Support of Metso Pump Trials in field.
  • Carry out hands on service work such as adjustments, installation, commissioning and operation of pumps on and off customer sites.
  • Internal and external report writing at completion of every field service job.
  • Conduct and/or assist with investigations of customer failures regarding quality, tolerances, specifications and delivered conditions of products.
  • Contributions to clients with technical evaluations and analyse equipment and machine component failures.
  • Ability to be able to solve practical on the job problems.
  • Providing solutions to customers and mechanical crews.
  • Promote company repair & service capabilities and obtain ongoing works.
  • Promote the sales and usage of MO wear and spare parts.
  • Identify sales opportunities for pumps and hydrocyclones.

About You:

  • Experience with maintenance and/or rebuild/assembly of slurry pumps.
  • Mechanical trade qualification with at least 2 years' experience - recognised in Australia.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Hold a current motor vehicle license and be able to pass random medical and drug tests.
  • Physically fit.
  • Ability to travel with short notice.
  • Ability to work away from home, for extended periods and extended hours, on weekends or as required.
