Urgent Care Nurse Opportunity

The Green Square Urgent Care Service aims to bridge the gap between urgent general practice care and emergency departments. Nurse Opportunities exist in a fast-paced environment where you will work alongside an administration officer and a general practitioner with urgent care experience to deliver timely care.
- Patient Process:
- Present via Healthdirect referral or walk-in
- Be assessed for initial eligibility and triaged by a nurse
- Await assessment and treatment by the GP if appropriate, or have their care escalated if needed
- Receive a written discharge summary and plan from the GP at the end of each episode, returning care to their regular GP
Nurse Responsibilities:
- Assess patient history and triage into appropriate categories, approximately 15 minutes per patient
- Communicate effectively with patients to gather focused histories and explain treatments
- Prioritize escalation of urgent cases to doctors
- Apply basic initial treatments (e.g., dressing, wound cleaning, simple analgesia)
- Document triage history accurately and in detail
Requirements:
- Qualifications as a Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
- At least 1 year of experience in urgent care or emergency nursing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Right to work in Australia
