About the Opportunity

Southern Cross University's Southern Cross Analytical Research Services (SCARS) is seeking a Casual Administration Assistant to support the operations of the Analytical Research Laboratory. This role offers a unique chance to further your administrative career.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Unpacking, checking and labelling incoming research and commercial samples, as well as assisting with sample preparation, labelling and packaging for external analysis.
  • Accurately entering sample data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Responding to client enquiries via phone or in person and directing as required.
  • Liaising with external laboratories regarding subcontracted analysis.
  • Adhering to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sample management: unpacking, checking, labelling and preparing samples for analysis.
  • Data entry: accurately recording sample information in LIMS.
  • Client communication: responding to client inquiries and providing assistance as needed.
  • Collaboration: working with external laboratories and stakeholders.
Requirements
