">Your Role
">We're seeking an experienced Senior Tribologist to join our team at Blue Origin's Engine Development department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of our rocket engines' tribological systems.

">This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in tribology to support the design, development, and testing of our advanced rocket engines. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement robust tribological solutions that meet our high standards for safety and performance.
">Responsibilities
">Key responsibilities include:
">- ">
- Developing and implementing tribological solutions for rocket engine components">
- Collaborating with designers and engineers to ensure seamless integration of tribological systems into engine designs">
- Leading and participating in technical discussions and reviews to ensure adherence to safety and performance requirements">
- Evaluating and selecting materials for optimal tribological performance">
- Designing and executing test plans to validate tribological system performance">
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies in tribology">
- Communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders">
Requirements
">To be successful in this role, you will need:
">- ">
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, or related field">
- At least 8 years of experience in product-focused tribology, preferably in the aerospace industry">
- Hands-on experience developing and executing test plans, measuring, and characterizing friction and wear of tribological systems">
- Fundamental understanding of material interfaces in relative motion and its impact on tribological performance">
- Expertise in vacuum-compatible dry film lubricants and deposition processes, tribology of metal-on-metal interfaces, or vacuum- and propellant-compatible greases">
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time">
- U.S. citizenship or national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum">
- Demonstrated experience supporting flight production programs, auditing suppliers, and characterizing wear surfaces and materials">
