Job Description:

The Support Learning Specialist plays a vital role in supporting and maintaining learning responses within the school community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Teachers with delivering effective learning programs for students in secondary education.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of educational objectives and planning.
  • Support a teacher in delivering targeted literacy and numeracy programs.
  • Work one-on-one and in small groups with students to support their learning.
  • Contribute to Individual Education Plans by collecting evidence, particularly for student adjustments.
  • Undertake administrative duties such as preparing resources for students.
  • Provide educational support to students, including engagement programs and camps.
  • Support staff in providing resources for activities/programs for students.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years' experience working with disadvantaged youth in an education setting.
  • A current unrestricted driver's license and willingness to drive a bus.
  • Knowledge of the causes of educational disengagement and barriers students face.
  • Experience in supporting students in literacy and numeracy programs.
  • Ability to role model and provide a positive influence for all students.
  • Capacity to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Willingness to undertake professional development and pursue continuous improvement.
  • Organised and able to work independently to achieve the goals of the role.
