As a casual Residential Youth Worker with Edmen, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people who are living in out-of-home care. You will work with some of Australia's best youth service providers, every day granting you a unique experience and adventure, empowering children and young people to live their best lives in a nurturing and safe environment.
Key Responsibilities- Create a Safe and Supportive Home: Foster a secure, nurturing environment for at-risk youth.
- Empower Daily Living: Assist with personal care, meals, and hygiene to promote independence.
- Facilitate Transportation: Ensure young people attend school, appointments, and community activities.
- Promote Growth: Encourage skill development and socialization within the local community.
- Manage Health Needs: Administer medications and maintain accurate reporting.
- Deliver Trauma-Informed Care: Support youth with complex behaviors using trauma-informed approaches.
- Engage in Therapeutic Practices: Participate in the Trauma Recovery framework and complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) within your first three months.
To be successful in this role, you will need to hold (or be studying towards) a Certificate IV in Youth Work, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Social Work, Disability Support Work or similar. You will also require an Australian Drivers License (P2 or higher), a Working with Children Check (Blue Card), and a Current First Aid & CPR certificate. The ability to work a mixture of day, night and weekend shifts as required is essential.
