As a Lead Full Stack Engineer, you will lead the design and technical strategy for our flagship Merchant Modernisation Project, delivering full-stack solutions with a strong focus on front-end development using Next.js or React, while also running the backend services using .NET and .NET Core.

You will demonstrate experience with coding, designing, and building business-driven payments solutions at scale and velocity. While having no direct reports, you will be guiding and mentoring the engineers across your crew to scaffold the development of elegant, well-tested, and maintainable code and software solutions.

You will come with a proven expertise in Full Stack engineering, driving a major set of technical decisions in design and architecture and translate this into pragmatic engineering design decisions. You will partner with stakeholders designing our overall tech direction, advising and influencing on technologies and complex integration strategies, and AI enablement.

This role will join our technology leadership team of the Acquisition Engagement & Retention Crew part or our wider in Everyday Business Banking Domain. Everyday Business Banking supports critical payment services—including cheques, bulk electronic payments, merchant acquiring (with terminal tech), and high-value international transactions. The team underpins 40% of Australia's economy, enabling over $90 billion in daily transactions through reliable, scalable systems that power nearly every customer-facing channel at our company.

As the Lead Engineer, you'll be a core member of our team. You will provide core technology expertise to inform technical strategy, be responsible for the design of the solutions for complex challenges within the crew. You'll have a strong risk mindset and take a security-first approach.
