Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Lab Scientist II to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in performing high-complexity testing in a clinical laboratory, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs. Key responsibilities include handling and processing patient samples, analyzing test results, preparing reports, and maintaining records of test results.

The selected candidate will also be responsible for accessioning samples into the laboratory information management system, complying with quality control policies, documenting QC activities, and maintaining confidentiality of personal health information.

In addition, the successful candidate will identify problems that may affect test performance or results, correct problems or escalate to Clinical Laboratory Manager technical supervisor clinical consultant or lab director. They will also teach/train new employees on CareDx policy methods and techniques, perform in-service and competency testing of employees, and participate in drafting and developing standard operating procedures.

Representatives from our Reference lab testing quality control and quality assurance program will interact with other groups, under the direction of the CLM investigate and follow-up on proficiency testing quality control results and patient testing that does not meet standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Held California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license
  • BS/BA in a biology-related science
  • At least 6 years of experience performing high-complexity testing in a clinical laboratory
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint etc)
  • Demonstrated analytical skills including working with databases and Excel)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels as well as customers and vendors)
