We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Peer Support Advocate to join our team at the RCH Mental Health Infant, Child and Family Area. As a member of the HOPE program, you will work closely with other professionals to provide tailored support to children and their families/carers in North and West Metropolitan Melbourne. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing peer support to parents/carers within the HOPE program
- Facilitating linkages to services, NGO based supports, and governmental agencies that provide practical support to families
- Supporting families to access these services and providing advocacy
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Engaging and supporting parents/carers through various means to promote recovery-oriented practice
- Sharing your personal mental health lived experience where appropriate
- Working collaboratively with other professionals to develop and implement strategies to promote family-centered service delivery
