Data Engineering Role

As a key member of the data infrastructure team, you will play a vital role in designing and maintaining a hybrid on-premises and cloud-based data platform. Your contributions will directly support trading, research, and operations by ensuring data is accurate, timely, and accessible.

This position combines data engineering and infrastructure engineering expertise, focusing on performance, scalability, automation, and availability. You will be responsible for crafting scalable, high-performance data infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments.

  • Design and build robust, scalable, high-performance data infrastructure across on-prem and cloud.
  • Develop real-time and batch-oriented data pipelines for market data ingestion, leveraging industry-standard tools and technologies.
  • Integrate and manage data from internal systems and external vendors with a focus on reliability, quality, and security.
  • Implement best practices around data governance, access control, monitoring, and observability to ensure seamless data flow and optimal system performance.
  • Collaborate closely with traders, researchers, and developers to align data systems with business objectives and drive strategic decision-making.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployments using modern DevOps and IaC tools to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Assist and mentor others working on data pipelines and orchestration, fostering knowledge sharing and growth within the team.
Essential Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Strong understanding of data engineering principles, including data modeling, processing, and storage.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or GCP, and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Knowledge of data integration, ETL processes, and data quality management.
  • Familiarity with containerization, virtualization, and orchestration tools, like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
