Disability Support Professional

About the Role:

As a key figure in our team, you will provide vital support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Provide assistance with manual handling and lifter transfers.
  • Manage seizure episodes and respond to emergency situations.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized plans of care.
  • Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with people with developmental disabilities (minimum 1 year).
  • Manual handling and lifter transfer training.
  • Seizure management experience.
  • Flexible availability including weekend shifts.
  • Able to manage family dynamics and work effectively in a team environment.

Licences and Certifications:

  • First Aid Certification (preferred).
  • Working with Children Check (preferred).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (preferred).
  • National Police Certificate (preferred).
  • Driver Licence (preferred).
