Are you a recent STEM graduate looking to launch your career with the Australian Government?
The Australian Government Graduate Program (AGGP) Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Stream offers you a unique opportunity to develop and deliver policy and services across multiple fields.
About the RoleThis program is designed for graduates with qualifications in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics who are passionate about making a difference in the community.
- We offer a 12-month training and development program that includes rotations in different work areas, access to on-the-job learning and development opportunities, and SES exposure.
- Our graduates will have the opportunity to work in various departments and agencies across Australia, including Canberra, other major cities, and regional centres.
To be eligible for this program, applicants must:
- Be an Australian citizen;
- Have completed a minimum of a 3-year undergraduate degree in a STEM field within the last 5 years; and
- Be able to obtain and maintain a valid Australian Government security clearance once accepted into the program.

Applicants can nominate their preferred placement when applying. We encourage applications from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Selection Process- An online application where you'll upload your resume, academic transcript and proof of your Australian citizenship;
- Online testing and/or video interview which may involve problem solving, numerical reasoning and behavioural or emotional testing;
- Assessment centre where you might participate in activities such as panel interviews, group presentations or written tasks.
Matching and offers will follow after the selection process. Successful applicants will be matched with a suitable position in a participating Australian Government department or agency.
STEM FieldsThe STEM fields covered by this program include:
- Science: biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences and more;
- Technology: computer science, information technology, engineering and mathematics;
- Engineering: mechanical, electrical, civil, aerospace and more;
