Job Title: Garment Technician

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Garment Technician to join our team. As a Garment Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing technical assistance and patternmaking across all aspects of design.

You will support designers, patternmakers, and production teams with creating accurate tech packs including technical details, measurements, and raw materials. The patternmaking component includes creating viable patterns from designer briefs and CAD drawings, as well as finalising patterns for bulk production.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-end fashion products and collaborate with talented designers and patternmakers.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop first patterns from design briefs using Gerber Accumark.
  2. Manage tech packs through the production process, from sample stage to final sign-off.
  3. Measure all Salesman Samples and ensure tech packs are accurate.
  4. Collaborate with designers, product developers, pattern makers, and the production team to ensure smooth communication through the product development process.
  5. Attend all product development and production fittings, communicating changes to all internal and external stakeholders and updating tech packs accordingly.
  6. Work with machinists to create high-quality samples.
  7. Create markers for sampling and provide all patternmaking information for estimates, including updating design brief file specification sheets.
  8. Provide ongoing support to the production team on any pattern, fit, construction, or quality queries.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience as a Garment Technician, preferably in the high-end/luxury fashion industry.
  • Experience with technical fabrications and manufacturing processes is beneficial.
  • Experienced in garment construction.
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design/Textiles (focus on patternmaking) or similar.
  • Excellent technical knowledge with a focus on garment construction and specifications.
  • Good knowledge of flat patternmaking and any patternmaking software (Gerber knowledge preferred but not essential).
  • Strong sewing skills across a wide range of fabrics and types of construction.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good computer skills with Mac and PC including knowledge of fashion production software.
