Ultrasound Specialist

The Ultrasound Specialist is responsible for providing high-quality ultrasound procedures using specialized equipment to perform complex medical imaging examinations for clients across various clinical specialties with a high level of professional independence.

The incumbent continues to obtain advanced ultrasound knowledge, contribute to developing professional expertise of other medical imaging professionals, and contributes to professional ultrasound standards.

The incumbent undertakes routine research programs and may coordinate ultrasound quality assurance programs.

• Perform complex ultrasound procedures using specialized equipment
• Contribute to developing professional expertise of other medical imaging professionals
• Continuously update knowledge and skills in ultrasound technology
• Participate in quality assurance programs

• Possess an accredited postgraduate qualification in medical ultrasound
• Registered as an accredited medical sonographer as administered by the Australasian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR)
