About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Manager to lead our small, high-performing Payroll team in Melbourne. As a key member of our Finance department, you will be responsible for end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely payment to approximately 350 employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage payroll processing for a large workforce, including fortnightly and monthly payments;
  • Prepare and review payroll reports, reconciliations, and journal entries;
  • Supervise a Payroll Officer and provide guidance on payroll procedures and systems;
  • Develop and implement process improvements and new projects;
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to address payroll queries and provide advice on legislation;
Requirements:
  • A strong numerical background, with experience in leading a small team in a similar Payroll Leader position;
  • Proven ability to work independently, adapt to changing situations, and deliver exceptional customer service;
  • Familiarity with EA Award interpretation and experience in a high-volume environment;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Candidate must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
