IDP has completed the first phase of its digital transformation, accelerating its business and helping students achieve their lifelong learning goals at top universities. We're now seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our Cyber Security Team and support our cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you'll be responsible for supporting our cloud environments, including AWS, and collaborating with the broader team to drive innovation and excellence. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Continuously pushing IDP towards AWS Best Practice and Well-Architected frameworks.
  • Reviewing our environment against AWS Best Practice and Well-Architected standards.
  • Developing and maintaining Amazon AWS-based cloud solutions using core AWS services (e.g., EC2, RDS, ELB, S3, VPC, Glacier, IAM).
  • Automating application and infrastructure delivery using CI/CD best practices.
  • Participating in the delivery and support of serverless cloud infrastructure using AWS tools like Cloud Formation, Lambda, and other serverless offerings.
  • Working with the Infrastructure Team to support a diverse range of infrastructure across the IDP business, including traditional virtualization and cloud technologies, Active Directory, ADFS, Azure AD, and AWS.
  • Utilizing scripting to provision well-architected, scalable, and rightsized infrastructure.
  • Driving IDP security practices across the IDP business.
  • Maintaining knowledge on best practices, evolving threats, and opportunities to improve performance, agility, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Regularly reviewing monitoring and reporting with Infrastructure leadership and utilizing AWS features like Trusted Advisor, Guard Duty, and Well-Architected tools to produce actionable plans.
  • Participating in high-profile delivery projects and working with the Development, Support, Testing, and Service Desk teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and applications.
  • Mentoring and participating in team development.
  • Communicating clearly and accurately with leadership and other technical specialists.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
  • 3-5 years of hands-on cloud engineering/data pipeline experience in AWS services, with a focus on day-to-day operations AWS core services (e.g., EC2, VPCs, RDS, SNS, SQS, Microservices, IAM, Route 53, Lambda).
  • Ability to estimate usage costs and identify operational cost control mechanisms.
  • Practical experience of utilizing CI/CD pipelines to maximize quality in a development team.
  • AWS Certified in one of the following: AWS Solutions Architect, SysOps, Developer, Cloud, DevOps professional, or associate.
  • Desirable experience in cloud monitoring tools (e.g., Stax Spotlight, Datadog, AppDynamics, CloudTrail, Splunk).
  • Strong communications skills and ability to communicate clearly and accurately.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in software engineering, computer science, or other relevant discipline.
