We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geriatrician to join our team at Calvary Mater Newcastle. As a Staff Specialist, you will be responsible for providing clinical management of complex elderly patients across General Medicine and Mental Health services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of complex medical conditions.
- Develop and implement effective care plans, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures, promoting quality and safety in healthcare.
- Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, sharing your expertise with medical students and junior doctors.
- Engage in clinical research, staying up-to-date with the latest medical advancements and best practices.
- A Primary Medical Degree registrable with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
- Specialist training in Geriatric Medicine, including demonstrated experience and/or qualification(s) in General and Acute Care Medicine.
- Demonstrated capacity for clinical leadership, a commitment to teaching, and a willingness to participate in research.
- Understanding of clinical governance principles, with experience in promoting quality and safety in healthcare.
