About the Role


The Market Retail Manager will bring The Market Pavilion precinct to life every day, maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence. This role is responsible for the overall operational strategy, Food Concierge services, eventing & activations, flexible space allocation, and curation of experience in line with the brand promise.



  • Implement processes and operating procedures to run The Market Pavilion precinct to the highest standard every day, ensuring cleaning & hygiene, retail execution standards, activations, and retailer initiatives are in place.
  • Operate Food Concierge services, including food storage, curb-side delivery, meal & shopping planning, food inspiration, and personal shopping services.
  • Manage activation spaces by maximising the use of adaptable infrastructure to provide seasonal and first-to-market product offerings, customer engagement, and retail partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with retail and commercial partners, gaining insights into current trends and category trading performance.
  • Work with the contract partner to manage common seating areas, coordinating sustainability programs to divert +95% of waste from landfill.
  • Encourage retail partners to implement best-in-class sustainability programs, focusing on compostable packaging and waste diversion.
  • Address logistics issues with retail partners related to delivery trolleys or infrastructure left in public areas.
  • Support tenants to maximise their business success, finding solutions to controllable impediments and maintaining centre-controlled debt targets.
  • Contribute to the creation and delivery of relevant communications via retail and commercial portals, focusing on curating food and service offers.
  • Maintain accurate data and information, creating management reports to demonstrate performance.
  • Develop the annual retailer engagement strategy and implement strategies to ensure retailers trade for all agreed operating hours.

Capabilities and Experience Required



  • An enthusiastic foodie with knowledge of seasonal products, cooking, and sharing food knowledge with others.
  • A quality leader with experience in curating an inclusive and customer-focused working environment.
  • Relevant industry experience, potentially gained in hospitality or tourism, focusing on food and customer experiences.
  • Strong connections and a network within the food and restaurant industry.
  • Demonstrated experience building professional relationships and managing stakeholders with varied needs.
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to leverage relationships to deliver best-in-class outcomes in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
  • Able to problem-solve in high-pressure situations and deliver results through collaboration.
