Executive Chef Role

The ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street is seeking an exceptional Executive Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a key member of the culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes across breakfast buffet, à la carte lunch and dinner, and conference catering.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and presenting high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Supporting daily operations within a team of four chefs and taking initiative when working independently.
  • Maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment and ensuring mise en place is ready at all times.
  • Upholding food safety standards in line with current regulations and maintaining accurate records.
  • Carefully managing inventory levels and minimizing wastage through effective stock control procedures.
  • Reporting any equipment issues to the Executive Chef and participating in regular maintenance routines.
  • Developing and implementing new recipes and menu items that align with the ibis Styles brand.

Requirements for this role include:

  • A trade qualification in Cookery.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a hotel environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver consistently high-quality food under pressure.
  • Energetic and proactive approach with enthusiasm to develop culinary expertise.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues and guests alike.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Flexible availability to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
