Position Overview:

As a Local Area Coordinator (LAC) at Feros Care, you will play a pivotal role in connecting with individuals with disabilities and their families, assisting them in navigating the National Disability Insurance Scheme. This position offers a diverse range of responsibilities, allowing you to engage with people from different backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist individuals with disabilities in creating personalized, goal-oriented plans that highlight their strengths and interests.
  • Support individuals in enhancing their capacity for self-direction, self-management, and self-advocacy.
  • Provide information and assistance to individuals and their families to access mainstream services and engage with the community.
  • Establish and nurture partnerships within the community to facilitate referrals to a variety of services.
  • Foster strong community relationships that promote inclusivity and accessibility.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A genuine commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities.
  • Relevant qualifications in disability services, allied health, or community services, or personal experience in disability support.
  • Proven track record of achieving key performance indicators and targets.
  • Exceptional communication, listening, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse team members, both in-person and remotely.
  • Proficiency in IT, including CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A person-centered approach that prioritizes confidentiality and professional integrity.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to meet individuals in their homes or community settings.
  • Commitment to upholding the values of Feros Care and the NDIA Participant Engagement Principles.
