Job Title: Commercial Lawyer

The role of a commercial lawyer involves providing legal advice and support to the organisation. This full-time position requires working with senior lawyers and other departments to provide legal guidance on various client and commercial contracts.

You will have prior commercial legal experience, ideally in a private practice setting, and be responsible for drafting and advising on various client and commercial contracts. You will also assist with legal matters such as privacy and regulatory issues, employment law, investigations, disputes, and litigation.

This role requires strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to developing your technical knowledge and expertise. If you are a motivated and enthusiastic lawyer looking to maintain a broad commercial practice, this could be an ideal opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drafting and advising on client and commercial contracts
  • Assisting with legal matters including privacy and regulatory issues, employment law, investigations, disputes, and litigation
  • Researching legal issues and providing commercial and well-informed advice
  • Providing company secretarial support
  • Updating the business on legal developments and providing training
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Laws (or Juris Doctor) and eligibility to practice in Australia
  • Private practice experience highly regarded
  • Interest in contracts/commercial law and maintaining a broad practice
  • Ability to interpret the law and develop practical and commercial solutions
  • Commitment to self-development and technical knowledge
