About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Management Accountant to join a leading construction business in the Sydney South West area. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, including transactional tasks, job costings, and business partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the transactional team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
  • Oversee job costings, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Business partner with on-site stakeholders and leaders, providing financial guidance and support to drive business growth.
  • Perform key month-end duties, including posting journal entries and reconciliations, and preparing monthly management packs with commentary.
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Ensure corporate reporting deadlines are met, and assist with internal and external audits.
  • Contribute to budget and forecast processes, providing financial insights and recommendations to drive business decisions.
Requirements
  • CPA or CA qualified, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the construction, manufacturing, or infrastructure industry.
  • Strong understanding of job costings and project accounting, with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and leaders.
  • Willingness to be hands-on and adaptable, with a growth mindset and a strong desire to learn and improve.
