Job Summary:
As a Construction Project Manager at Bechtel, you will lead a team and supervise superintendents and/or craft professionals on a project where you will direct craft professional activities and work schedules, and coordinate trade contract work activities and team development.
Your oversight will ensure craft professionals have the tools required to be productive, comply with project policies, procedures, and job site work rules and procedures, and perform within specifications, schedules and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership / Supervision: Proactively engages with their team's development through competency development/assessment and feedback, supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned.
- Planning / Productivity: Determines workforce requirements, prepares reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast.
- Tools, Materials & Equipment: Monitors tool and equipment usage on the site, prepares Field Material Requisitions for tools and consumables, and ensures that the crafts have the tools they require to be productive.
- Safety & Quality: Ensures assigned construction operations and trade contractors' performance are in compliance with specifications, responsible for the implementation of corporate/project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned operations, monitors work activities and ensures the quality of work performed.
- Technical: Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents, coordinates engineering solutions with trade contractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
Requirements:
- Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience.
- Monitors, organizes and directs trade contractor activities, through coordination and instruction of trade contractor's management staff within the area of responsibility.
- Monitors trade contractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.
- Reviews trade contractor construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.
- Coordinates the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.
- Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements.
- Enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.
- Supports Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
- Coordinates engineering solutions with trade contractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
- Coordinates with Design on constructability issues.
