Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Project Officer to support our Government Relations and Advocacy team. As a key member of the team, you will provide administrative assistance, coordinate events, and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve our goals.


About the Role

The successful candidate will have experience in administration, project management, and communication. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and prioritizing demanding workloads, as well as supervising and supporting junior staff.


Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative Support: Provide forward planning and tracking services to ensure effective prioritization of key team objectives.
  • Communications and Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders to prepare presentations, briefings, and speeches, as well as assist in producing publications.
  • Workforce Capability: Develop and implement process reviews, knowledge management systems, and induction programs to enhance team performance.
  • Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior staff within the team and organization.
  • Events Coordination: Prepare for stakeholder meetings and events throughout the year.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in administration, project management, or related fields.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize demanding workloads.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence, negotiate, and collaborate effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex issues clearly across various mediums.
  • Research and analytical skills to develop solutions and strategic recommendations.
  • Understanding of the role, current issues, and policy development.
  • Experience supervising and supporting junior staff.
  • A positive attitude and team-oriented approach, with flexibility across tasks and workstreams.

Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary range of $99,562 - $111,590 (plus 15.4% superannuation), as well as flexible working arrangements, including full-time, part-time, and job-sharing options.
