Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance team at our Thomastown workshop. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting breakdown repairs and ongoing preventative maintenance on our fixed plant machinery and equipment.
Your expertise will contribute to the smooth operation of our production processes, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including scheduled maintenance activities and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical problems, implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to coordinate maintenance activities and optimize equipment performance.
- Use FIX software to log all jobs completed.
Requirements:
- Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or similar qualification.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, with a solid understanding of machinery operation and maintenance principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
This role offers a positive work environment with a supportive team culture, and flexibility to work a 10 am to 6 pm shift schedule, with overtime as needed.
