The position of Examinations Coordinator is in Assessment Services, Education, Learning and Assessment directorate. The role contributes to the development of physician training curricula, selection into training, development of learning resources and evaluation systems for RACP training programs
The primary purpose of the Examinations Coordinator role is, in conjunction with the Executive Officer – Divisional Clinical Examinations, to coordinate the planning, logistics and results release processes for Divisional Clinical Examination including providing administrative support for examination and committee processes and coordinating the involvement of other team members.
Please note: This role is fixed-term until August 2026.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing timelines, processes, communications, and documentation to support the coordination and delivery of examinations ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
- Providing secretariat support to divisional examination committees and examiner panels including preparation of agendas and briefs, organising and attending meetings, producing minutes, drafting reports and correspondence, and supporting the implementation of committee decisions, policies and procedures.
- Arranging calibration/training sessions and providing support to committees, panels, examiners, local examination organisers, hospital administrative staff and other external stakeholders involved in conducting divisional assessments.
- Maintaining accurate records of candidate details, applications, and results to ensure accuracy and reliability of information.
- Managing candidate withdrawals, special considerations and other requests as required.
Essential skills and qualifications include:
- A relevant qualification or equivalent combination of relevant training and/or experience in administration.
- Experience coordinating large schedules and understanding of geographic locations in Australia.
- Previous experience in an administrative support role in a busy, complex customer-focused work environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
- Effective planning and organisational skills with ability to manage competing deadlines and high workloads without compromising quality and standards.
- A commitment to professional and ethical client service.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail including proofreading skills.
- Proven initiative and problem-solving skills.
