About the Role

The Enterprise Architect will play a critical role in driving the development and implementation of ICT architecture within the department, ensuring alignment with whole-of-government enterprise processes and standards.

This position will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement, and to develop and lead the maintenance and implementation of ICT architecture.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Maintain Enterprise Architecture Strategy

Establish and enforce architectural principles and standards, driving governance across the ICT department. Ensure alignment with organisational goals and long-term objectives.

Create and Manage ICT Technology Road Map

Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement, and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance operational efficiency. Champion the adoption of new technologies to drive business change and related ICT planning and investment decisions.

Oversee Solution Architecture Development

Align solution architecture with enterprise principles, ensuring secure and compliant solutions. Identify and manage risks associated with architecture, and ensure effective governance frameworks are in place.

Engage with Key Stakeholders

Communicate the value of enterprise architecture to key stakeholders, and lead the development of technical architecture activities across the agency. Foster continuous improvement and drive business innovation.

Desired Skills and Experience
  1. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies, including familiarity with SFIA competencies.
  2. Ability to align architectural strategies with organisational goals and long-term objectives.
  3. Proven track record of identifying and implementing innovative technology solutions.
  4. Experience in establishing governance frameworks and managing architectural risks effectively.
  5. Strong communication skills and ability to effectively engage with and influence key stakeholders.
  6. Experience in managing and implementing change initiatives with minimal disruption to operations.
