We are seeking a highly skilled Turf Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the ground maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our racecourses and training tracks are always presented in the best possible condition.

This is a permanent full-time position reporting directly to the Racecourse Manager. You will be responsible for undertaking routine maintenance tasks including labouring, cleaning, track preparation, and garden maintenance instructions. Additionally, you will operate plant equipment such as tractors, mowers, front-end loaders, forklifts, power sweepers, power harrows, brush cutters, hedgers, push mowers, and general spray operations.

Your daily responsibilities will include conducting routine inspections of turf, synthetic, artificial, and other surfaces. Working hours on non-race days are from 8:30am to 5:00pm, while during a race week, you will work Tuesday to Saturday, and on non-race weeks, you will work Monday to Friday.

To be successful in this role, you will require demonstrated experience in a similar position, preferably in turf management. Additionally, you will need general operational and mechanical maintenance skills, appropriate licenses to operate specialist machinery, and experience in operating plant and equipment.

A sound knowledge and practical experience of handling and spraying chemicals are also essential. Furthermore, a demonstrable ability to work independently and as part of a team, sound verbal and interpersonal communication skills, and a can-do attitude are required.
