Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to join our team as an Environmental Services Assistant. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, providing high standards of cleanliness to our operating theatres department.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering quality patient care and is committed to upholding infection control standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness to operating theatres
  • Ensuring all equipment utilised on shifts is cleaned, restocked and stored in the appropriate storage areas
  • Upholding infection control standards by adhering to standard protocols and any additional precautions
  • Disposing of soiled general and clinical waste
  • Working in a friendly and supportive manner at all times
  • Maintaining communication networks with nursing staff and other stakeholders ensuring quality clinical outcomes are achieved

As an Environmental Services Assistant, you will work closely with the Hotel Services Manager and other team members to ensure a high level of quality patient care is delivered in line with the care values and strategic direction of the hospital.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Previous experience in a hospital environment an advantage but not essential
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus
  • Compliance with Workplace Health and Safety and Infection Control
  • Experience in cleaning services
  • Be a team player and able to work within a large team
  • Attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Self-motivation and ability to work effectively while adhering to instructions and infection prevention and control
  • Availability to work across a 7-day rotating roster
