The Australian Government Department of Defence is offering a unique opportunity for an experienced Business Manager to join its Finance Procurement and Estate team as part of the ERP Support Organisation (ESO).

About the Role

This exciting position is based in the ESO, which supports the Defence Digital Group to deliver Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) services to the Defence community.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide expertise in business management, including procurement, contract, and budget management for the Directorate.
  • Lead directorate business administration activities, including risk and issues management, travel, file management systems, and audit requirements.
  • Assist with communications, develop strategies, and evaluate business outcomes.
  • Manage allocated resources, setting work area priorities, and manage workflows.
  • Lead and manage teams by allocating resources in a manner that delivers results.
  • Lead onboarding and offboarding processes, ongoing development of team members.
  • Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and stakeholders.
About Our Team

The ERP Support Organisation (ESO) is responsible for coordinating ERP sustainment services across legacy applications and new S/4 HANA capabilities. ESO adopts the DDG Service Integration and Management (SIAM) framework for end-to-end ICT service integration and delivers integrated governance, operating model, processes, and structure in support of the ERP Operating Model.

The program will simplify and align processes and technology, implementing a whole-of-Defence transformation across groups and services.

We are seeking an experienced Business Manager with the following skills and qualifications:

  • High-level knowledge of legislative frameworks, government decision-making, and Defence's mission and policy.
  • Extensive experience in ICT business management and administration.
  • Excellent analytical skills and high attention to detail.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing geographically distributed and culturally diverse work groups.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, refined relationship building skills, and ability to influence people at various levels.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in contract management and government procurement practices.
Estimated Salary

Australian dollars AUD $123,000 per annum.
