Senior Drone Pilot Job Opportunity

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Drone Pilot to join our team. As a key member of our aerial operations team, you will be responsible for safely operating remotely piloted aircraft (RPAS) for various industrial applications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of aviation regulations and a solid background in mission planning, execution, and safety management. They will also possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as Pilot in Command (PIC) for RPAS missions, ensuring compliance with all aviation regulations and safety protocols.
  • Support the development of Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations and contribute to the growth of our aerial services business.
  • Conduct thorough mission planning, including weather assessment, airspace coordination, and risk management.
  • Execute VLOS, EVLOS, and BVLOS flights, maintaining a high level of situational awareness and adhering to safety procedures.
  • Perform basic maintenance and field repairs on RPAS, with training provided as necessary.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to understand their requirements and deliver high-quality data products.
  • Collaborate with our data processing team to ensure seamless integration of data collection and analysis.
Requirements:
  • Current Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).
  • Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC) or equivalent certification.
  • CASA Instrument Rating (IREX) or equivalent qualification.
  • Excellent knowledge of RPAS systems, aerodynamics, and flight dynamics.
  • Ability to travel extensively for extended periods.
  • Experience in complex, industrial, or remote locations, including mining, energy, or surveying environments.
  • Knowledge of photogrammetry, LiDAR, or other remote sensing technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
