The City of Launceston is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Leader Recreation and Parks to join our team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in the delivery of open space planning, park and reserve management, recreation and sporting facility management, and more.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of professionals in the delivery of open space planning, park and reserve management, recreation and sporting facility management, and more.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality and accessibility of our open spaces and recreational facilities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize community needs and develop solutions to meet those needs.
- Manage and maintain a diverse portfolio of projects and initiatives, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Provide leadership and guidance to team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively.
- A relevant qualification from a tertiary institution, or substantial relevant work experience with the desire to undertake formal qualifications.
- Substantial experience in the management of parks, reserves, or recreation, including project and asset management.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage stakeholders across a broad group of interests.
- Experience in strategic planning, community engagement, and team leadership.
