Blacktown Girls High School is a partially selective girls' high school that empowers students to learn to their fullest potential in an environment where everyone is known, valued, and respected. School OverviewThe school has an enrolment of 1005 students, made up of 2.3% Aboriginal students and 89% of students from a language background other than English. Equity programs to support students from a Language Background Other Than English and Aboriginal students are delivered by staff and outside agencies. We have also fostered strong partnerships with universities, businesses, and community groups, and have established strong industry partnerships.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our executive team as a Head Teacher Welfare. As a key member of the school leadership team, you will be responsible for developing student wellbeing initiatives and implementing procedures to identify and support students with a wide range of wellbeing and learning needs within the context of a partially selective girls' high school.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement student wellbeing initiatives to support students with diverse wellbeing needs.
- Work closely with external agencies, staff, parents/carers, and the wider community to support and case manage students with wellbeing needs.
- Collaborate with the executive team and whole school staff to identify and lead initiatives that address school strategic directions.
- A successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning, and classroom practice.
- Knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
- Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff, and parents.
This role attracts a base salary of $145,499.00, plus leave loading and employer's contribution to superannuation. An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
