About the Position

This role supports older people within Capital Region Community Services (CRCS) Aged Care program. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting individuals who meet the criteria of the Commonwealth Home Support Program and Home Care Package programs. The position is inclusive and focuses on providing opportunities for participants to maintain their independence.

The key responsibilities include supporting with domestic assistance tasks such as house cleaning, clothes washing and ironing, dishwashing, sweeping verandas, cleaning of bathrooms and toilets, washing of household linen, shopping, bill paying, and meal preparation.

Requirements

  • A First Aid Certificate
  • Completed or working towards Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing)
  • Relevant experience or on-the-job training commensurate with the requirements of work in this level
  • Ability to undertake physical activities relevant to the duties mentioned above, including lifting and bending
  • Current driver's license and access to a road-worthy and comprehensively insured vehicle is compulsory

Working Conditions

  • Hold or obtain a satisfactory Working with Vulnerable People registration (ACT) and/or a Working with Children Check (NSW), having these clearances at all times while employed by CRCS
  • Undertake a National Criminal History Clearance by CRCS prior to commencing and every three years thereafter as a condition of employment

Estimated Salary: $50-$65 per hour based on the average Australian salary range for this role and considering the company's location and industry standards.
