About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Planner to join our motivated and professional Strategic Planning team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the preparation and management of planning instruments, rezoning of land, and the development of strategic plans and policies.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of strategic and environmental planning frameworks and legislation, as well as extensive experience in the assessment and management of complex planning proposals. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders and colleagues.
In addition to your technical skills and experience, you will be a strong team player who is passionate about delivering excellent planning outcomes. You will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of autonomy and flexibility.
Key Responsibilities- Support the preparation and management of planning instruments, rezoning of land, and the development of strategic plans and policies.
- Assess and manage complex planning proposals, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including community groups, developers, and other government agencies.
- Contribute to the development of Council's strategic planning framework, including the preparation of plans and policies.
- Provide supervisory and mentoring support to junior planning staff, as required.
- An annual salary range of up to $109,300 (plus 11.5% superannuation), dependent upon skills, experience, and qualifications.
- A leaseback vehicle for work and private use (full time only).
- 19 day month flexible work arrangement for full time staff.
