About the Role
The Technology Specialist Infrastructure plays a vital role in ensuring the operation and integration of Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) systems within Southern Ports. This role is responsible for providing expert support in maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing Southern Ports' technology, with a key focus on infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Fortinet firewalls, ensuring robust security policies are in place. Regularly review and update firewall rules to align with best practices and evolving security threats.
- Implement and optimize SD-WAN solutions to enhance network performance, reduce latency, and ensure seamless connectivity between branch offices and data centres.
- Develop and enforce network security protocols, including intrusion detection/prevention, secure VPNs, and encryption, to protect against cyber threats. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technology issues reported by users promptly.
- Analyse problems thoroughly to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Familiarity with cloud-based networking solutions (Azure, AWS) and hybrid network environments, including secure connectivity between on-premises and cloud resources.
- Strong scripting and automation skills using tools like Python, PowerShell, or Ansible to streamline network and system configurations and deployments.
- Maintain detailed records of incidents, changes, and system configurations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on various projects, providing technical expertise and support.
- Regularly update and maintain systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Conduct proactive maintenance checks to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and propose innovative solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3+ years in an infrastructure or network engineer role.
- Proven experience with Fortinet firewalls and SD-WAN solutions.
- ITIL foundations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
