Required Skills and Qualifications- Must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
- Negative Vetting 2 security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of intelligence concepts and methods.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team of intelligence practitioners within a law enforcement agency, intelligence, defence, federal or state government agency.

A team leader in the AFP Intelligence Operations plays a pivotal role in developing intelligence practitioners, setting directions of teams, and delivering operational and organizational outcomes.
As a Team Leader, you will have extensive knowledge and understanding of intelligence concepts and methods, demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of intelligence practitioners, and set strategic direction for an intelligence team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage an intelligence team engaged in analysis of collected and collated information to produce and disseminate intelligence that influences organisational decision-making at all levels.
- Develop strategies and plans for an intelligence team to provide tactical, operational and strategic analysis to influence critical decision making regarding the deployment of operational resources.
- Support and develop team members in their intelligence professional development and coaching and mentoring team members in their leadership development.
- Maintain currency in intelligence concepts and methods through ongoing professional development and learning opportunities outside the formal education process.
- Assume accountability for resources, supporting and implementing change management and improvement strategies.
Additional Information
There are anticipated vacancies located in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, and Darwin. Successful applicants are expected to be based in the relevant locations.
