About the Role
  • The primary responsibility is to provide support to service delivery under the direction of the Chef/Cook. This includes preparing daily meals and beverages that meet individual needs of each resident including special dietary requirements, allergies, and culturally specific instructions as provided by the Chef or Cook.
  • Maintaining environmental service standards and ensuring a safe and clean living environment for residents are essential tasks.
  • Fully adhering to the National Food Safety Program at all times, including completing food safety records and preventing cross contamination, is crucial.
Requirements
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills are essential, both written and verbal.
  • Able to prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement is necessary.
  • Working knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control is required.
  • Able to operate standard domestic and industrial equipment.
  • Previous experience with Australian food safety standards is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in food preparation and food safety is an advantage.
  • A Food Handling Certificate is highly desirable.
