About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Public Policy Senior Adviser. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping and implementing our public policy agenda.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice to bishops and their agencies on public policy matters, particularly in relation to the Australian Parliament.
  • Develop and implement engagement strategies to advance our position on key policy issues.
  • Monitor and analyze proposed legislation and policy trends at the federal, state, and territory levels.
  • Research and draft submissions to government inquiries on matters of interest to the Bishops Conference.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including politicians, public servants, and other advocacy groups.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in public policy, advocacy, or a related field.
  • Strong research and analysis skills, with the ability to communicate complex information effectively.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge of Catholic social teaching and its application in public policy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
