About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Controls Specialist to join our team in Perth. As a key member of our project controls group, you will be responsible for analyzing project cost performance, tracking expenditures, and forecasting future costs to support budget management and financial planning.

You will also mentor and support junior project controls staff, fostering their professional development and ensuring consistency and accuracy in project controls practices.

Additionally, you will monitor project progress, identify potential risks and delays, and propose mitigation strategies to maintain project momentum.

Effective communication and collaboration with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders will be essential to gather relevant data and inputs for project controls activities.

You will prepare regular reports and presentations on project performance, providing insights and recommendations to project teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project cost performance, track expenditures, and forecast future costs.
  • Mentor and support junior project controls staff.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations on project performance.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in engineering, project management, business administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar position within project controls, preferably in the mining & minerals industry or related sectors.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Oracle, Ecosys, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
  • Advanced data analysis and reporting skills, with expertise in applications such as Power Pivot and Power BI.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership experience.
