Our ideal candidate has a strong background in mechanical engineering or a related field, with experience working on thermal protection systems and aerothermal heating on reentry vehicles. You should have hands-on experience with hardware that has performed in challenging thermal environments and be able to drive open-ended design and development challenges.

We use Siemens NX CAD software, and experience with this tool is highly desirable. Basic thermal or mechanical analysis skills are also required. If you have a passion for innovation, a willingness to learn, and excellent problem-solving skills, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and qualify thermal protection system solutions for our Starship architecture
  • Analyze and troubleshoot post-flight conditions on vehicle heatshields
  • Work with production teams to resolve issues on the floor and on the vehicle with flight hardware
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams to drive projects forward
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • 1+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing or production
  • 1+ years of experience working on thermal protection systems
  • Strong fundamentals in aerothermal heating on reentry vehicles
  • Hands-on experience with hardware that has performed in challenging thermal environments
  • Experience using Siemens NX CAD software
  • Basic thermal or mechanical analysis skills
