Job Role

SCHADS Award Crisis Accommodation Level 2

This role involves working with clients to achieve positive outcomes and reach their personal goals.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with daily needs, ensuring they have access to food, water, showering facilities, laundry, and clean clothes.
  • Provide first aid and emergency care when necessary.
  • Closely monitor clients' wellbeing while at the Centre.
  • Offer assistance to those unable to meet their basic needs unaided.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide a safe and supportive environment.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • A strong understanding of workplace health and safety procedures, including food hygiene and manual handling.
  • The ability to handle crisis situations and manage challenging behaviors.
  • Prior experience working with individuals experiencing mental health challenges, alcohol and other drug issues, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families, and communities is highly regarded.
  • A current QLD drivers licence 'Class C' or interstate equivalent, Blue Card (Working with children card), national PoliceCheck, and First Aid & CPR Certifications are required.
