Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our Urgent Care team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the growth of our service.


About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all patients presenting to the Urgent Care Service are identified as appropriate, triaged promptly, and provided with front-line care in collaboration with medical practitioners.


Key Responsibilities
  • Triage all patients who present to Urgent Care
  • Conduct comprehensive and accurate nursing triage
  • Act promptly for any triaged patients requiring emergency escalation or due to deterioration
  • Perform procedural work such as suturing and plastering
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in the dynamic Urgent Care environment
  • Deliver high-quality, person-centered care in collaboration with patients, families, carers, and medical practitioners
  • Ensure patients achieve desired clinical outcomes
  • Provide essential health education to patients
  • Complete all documentation accurately and promptly

Requirements
  • AHPRA Registered Nurse
  • Must be available evenings and weekends
  • Working with Children Check and National Police Check required
  • Previous experience in triage within an emergency department, remote nursing, or ICU is preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in acute care settings
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and a high level of critical thinking
  • Ability to assess and recognise health deterioration and escalate appropriately
  • Personable with a passion for helping people
