Cement Laboratory Technician

Boral, a leading cement manufacturer in Australia, is seeking an experienced Senior Plant Attendant to join our Cement team based in the Berrima plant.
The main responsibilities of this role will include routine testing of cement, lime, and associated raw materials. To be successful, you must demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement, attention to detail, and a willingness to undertake training in production processes relevant to the role.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage incoming and outgoing samples
- Prepare samples for testing by crushing, splitting, etc.
- Test cement, lime, and associated raw materials for chemical, physical, and performance parameters, including particle size analysis, chemical analysis (XRF), compressive strength, setting times, available lime index, and slaking.
- Record, interpret, and verify your own results using a computer-based laboratory data management system.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, including checks and calibrations.
- A commitment to zero harm to people, plant, and equipment.
- Self-motivation with the ability to work unsupervised in a routine environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A willingness to learn and contribute to the team.
- Ability to follow standard test methods and work within NATA accreditation and QA guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to accurately log data and maintain records.
- Solid mathematical and computing skills.
- Previous experience in a construction materials laboratory and/or a Certificate III in Laboratory Skills will be highly regarded.
