Maintenance Planner

Company: A leading commercial manufacturer and distributor with a global presence.

Contract Type: 12-month Fixed Term Contract

Role Summary: In this pivotal role, you will enhance operational efficiency and craftsmanship by supplying maintenance resources, documentation, and planning support. You will serve as the superuser during a global system upgrade, ensuring a seamless transition.

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive spare parts database, ensuring accurate allocation to assets.
• Enhance maintenance effectiveness and ensure first-time execution by refining preventive maintenance (PM) procedures.
• Advise the Engineering Manager on necessary plant modifications to boost performance and reliability.
• Conduct maintenance audits to verify that documented tasks are completed and update task lists to reflect real-time improvements.
• Perform a review of current maintenance inventory, discarding components that are no longer utilized.
• Generate a report detailing spare parts usage and establish minimum stock levels and reorder points for all components.
• Conduct a stock take of spare parts and provide recommendations to the Engineering Manager regarding priority purchases.
• Redesign the storage layout to optimize organization based on component type, usage frequency, and job-based kits for rapid response to plant failures.
• Document OEM data for spare parts in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and update as necessary based on failure event data.
• Ensure that OEM installation and maintenance guidelines are incorporated into PM procedures.
• Deliver monthly reports on machinery uptime.

• Preferred: Mechanical Trade Qualification.
• Required: High proficiency in CMMS Maintenance Management Software.
• Strong attention to detail and adeptness in sourcing and identifying components.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
