About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Financial Controller to join our team at SA Water. In this role, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership in cost control, including monitoring project budgets, managing accruals, and overseeing cash flow.

You will work closely with project and program managers, delivery teams, and senior stakeholders to ensure financial policies and compliance standards are met, while driving process improvements that enhance our project delivery capabilities.

This role also involves mentoring a team of Cost Controllers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and delivering high-quality financial reporting to support our infrastructure goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead cost control efforts across capital delivery teams, ensuring alignment with financial policies and robust cost control standards.
  • Provide expert cost management advice to Project Managers and senior leaders.
  • Oversee contract administration, accruals, and cash flow to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop and refine cost models and forecasts, managing change controls, and analysing cost data for risk assessment and performance optimisation.
  • Build and lead a team of Cost Controllers to deliver cost-tracking accuracy that supports portfolio capitalisation.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications in Finance, Business, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in cost control, project management, or business management within a large, multi-project environment.
  • Strong applied business analysis skills, advanced proficiency in MS Office, and excellent reporting capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively, building rapport and conveying process improvements.
