This includes partnering with line leadership to provide coaching, technical expertise, direction and advice on safety risk management, field leadership and event & investigation quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting line management in their accountability for Health & Safety risk assessments, event investigation, field leadership and compliance to relevant Health & Safety requirements;
  • Supporting the operation in the delivery of Safety improvement initiatives, aligned to the Integrated Operations Plan (IOP); coupled with accurate and transparent Health & Safety reporting
  • Monitoring the quality of Health & Safety risk assessments, event investigation and field leadership, encouraging a strong culture of learning and embedment of safety improvements;
  • Demonstrating expected standards through ongoing engagement with site leaders and coaching quality field verifications;
  • Delivering safety training programs to the Operations team, including task-based risk management and non-significant event investigation facilitation.
About You

We are looking for a self-motivated professional with a solid record of accomplishment of achieving results through influence, coaching and mentoring. You will be passionate about safety and have a proven track record of promoting a culture of care.

You Will Also Have:

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in Health and Safety or a related field;
  • Strong interpersonal, attention to detail and communication skills with an ability to influence at multiple levels in safety;
  • Coaching and mentoring skills with a genuine desire to help people achieve solid outcomes and support continuous improvement;
  • Experience and high level of competence in Microsoft Power BI and other data analytics platforms.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000-$150,000 AUD, depending on experience and qualifications. BHP offers attractive salary packages with performance-based bonuses and a best-in-class employee share program.
