About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Scheduler to join our team at Rio Tinto Weipa. As a key member of our Main Workshop, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining maintenance schedules that support safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.

This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with stakeholders to ensure schedules are optimised and reflect real-time operational priorities. You will be a motivated individual who is passionate about maintenance planning, continuous improvement, and teamwork.

As a Maintenance Scheduler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective execution of daily planned maintenance activities for fixed plant assets, aligning with safety, environmental, and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, and revise daily schedules for planned and preventative asset maintenance activities.
  • Optimise schedules to enhance resource efficiency, minimise downtime, and comply with statutory and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and external vendors to identify and mitigate risks associated with planned maintenance tasks.
  • Use the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance data.
  • Support quality execution of the schedule while identifying opportunities for improvement in future schedules.
  • Facilitate scheduling meetings and communicate maintenance priorities effectively.
  • Collect and analyse maintenance data to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
  • Experience in scheduling or maintenance planning within heavy industry, mining, or similar environments.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems (e.g., SAP) and scheduling tools.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including MS Excel and Word.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and engage with cross-functional teams.
  • A proactive mindset focused on problem-solving and improvement.
