Senior Financial Accountant

This dynamic organization is seeking a seasoned financial accountant with a technical audit background to assume a leadership role in the team.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience within audit from public practice paired with another 3-5 years of commercial / technical financial accounting. This could be within a large corporation or a complex entity with intricate reporting requirements. A strong communicator and leader will thrive as this position oversees a team and collaborates with multiple managers across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily activities of a financial and assistant accountant.
  • Manage, drive, and maintain accurate and timely financial reports and statutory requirements.
  • Oversee the fixed asset register to ensure compliance.
  • Oversee the monthly reporting for joint ventures.
  • Review and analyze the general ledger, balance sheet, and profit and loss statement.
  • Ensure ASX reporting and quarterly requirements are met.
  • Provide tax work papers and compliance support to the Tax Manager.
  • Manage external audits and deadlines effectively.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience within Audit plus 3-5 years in a commercial accounting role.
  • Technical, statutory, and financial accounting expertise is essential.
  • Experience within a mining or large mining services company is highly desirable.
  • Experience within an Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) listed company is mandatory.
