Senior Power Systems Engineer Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Power Systems Engineer to join our team and contribute to the successful delivery of complex high-voltage projects across Australia.

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled professional to support and lead grid connection studies, manage technical stakeholder engagement, and contribute to project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct complex power system studies including load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis.
  • Prepare generator performance standard (GPS) studies and supporting documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to negotiate GPS outcomes and connection agreements.
  • Lead or support the preparation of technical reports related to registration, modelling, and commissioning.
  • Assist with project controls, subcontractor coordination, and cost-effective engineering design.
  • Support junior engineers through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in power systems analysis with a focus on renewable energy and grid connection.
  • Strong proficiency in PSSE, PSCAD, Power Factory; Hypersim experience desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian National Electricity Rules (NER) and the generator connection process.
  • Confident communicator with a track record of engaging stakeholders at all levels.
  • Chartered status CPEng with Engineers Australia is desirable but not essential.
